Regulating assisted reproductive technologies in Nigeria: The case for a comprehensive National Fertility Law
Otunba ‘La-olu Osanyin is an internationally renowned Medicolegal Consultant and Vice President of the World Association of Medical Law (WAML). He currently serves as the first and only African on the Board of Governors of the World Association for Medical Law (WAML).
With over 20 years’ experience in legal practice, he is a member of the American College of Legal Medicine. He was appointed by the former Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, to serve on the Board of the Nigerian National Health Research Ethics Committee (NHREC), and until recently, he served on the Ethics Committee of the American College of Legal Medicine.
Otunba Osanyin is Chair, Committee on Medicine and the Law of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice of which he is the General Secretary.
He heads the Medicolegal Department of Medical Tutors Ltd which is accredited by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) as a Continuous Professional Development Provider (CPD).
Otunba Osanyin lectures at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo State, where he is part of the team that pioneered the MSc. in Health Law and Policy Programme at the institution.
He is the Founder and Convener of the Nigerian Medical Law Summit. He is also the Senior Partner of First Counsel Solicitors; a Medicolegal Consultancy Firm.
