Mrs. Rifkatu Lanna

Surrogacy in the Age of Social Media: Managing Public Perceptions and Privacy Concerns

Rifkatu Lanna graduated from the School of Nursing, Jos, Plateau State in 1996 and obtained the membership of National Association of Nigerian Nurses & Midwives (NANNM) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.

She worked extensively in the Medical Ward and the Orthopaedic Ward of the Jos University Teaching hospital [JUTH], acquiring experience in Bedside Nursing.

In 2019, the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Unit of the Jos University Teaching Hospital was established, and she was deployed there to head the unit as the Unit Coordinator of Nursing Services, a position she still holds till date.

She is a Deputy Director of Nursing [DDN] and has practiced in the areas of Assisted Conception and general Obstetrics and Gynaecology since the inception of the unit at the teaching hospital.

Mrs. Rifkatu Lanna obtained a PGD Fertility Nursing from University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT, 2020), a master’s degree in Health Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU, 2022), and master’s degree in Midwifery from University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT, 2023).

Currently, she is a PhD Student of Midwifery, University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

Mrs. Rifkatu Lannna has two publications which centre on infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF) to her credit.
