Dr. Julian Mamiso is a highly experienced Consultant in Reproductive Medicine, currently practicing at the Care Fertility Centre in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. He is in his 30th year of active practice in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).

His career in fertility medicine began in 1994 at the Sheffield Fertility Centre (now Care Fertility Sheffield) in South Yorkshire, UK. Between 1995 and 1997, he served as a Consultant at the Cromwell IVF Centre in Swansea, South Wales. From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Mamiso worked internationally as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at the Dubai Fertility Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

Returning to the UK, he continued his practice as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at the London Women’s Clinic in Swansea from 2003 to 2012. He then joined the Bridge Fertility Centre and London Women’s Clinic in London Bridge and Harley Street, where he served from 2012 to 2018. From 2020 to June 2024, he worked with Care Fertility Bath and Bristol before assuming his current role at Care Fertility Cardiff in July 2024.

Dr. Mamiso is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG), UK, and a member of the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).

Over the past decade, he has actively engaged with AFRH, driven by a strong commitment to advancing the development of Assisted Conception in Africa. Drawing from his experience in the UK—where ART centres are strictly regulated by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA)—he advocates for robust regulation within the African context, especially in Third-Party ART practices such as egg donation and surrogacy, to protect all participants from exploitation.

He has also consistently called for the alignment of fertility centres to optimize the use of high-standard IVF laboratory facilities. He has addressed this topic in previous AFRH conferences and remains passionate about seeing this vision implemented.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mamiso is a lecturer with IMSA, the Post-Fellowship training programme based at NISA Premier Hospital, Abuja, where he contributes to the education and mentoring of the next generation of ART specialists.
