Dr. Smith-Okonu graduated from the Ahfad University of Women, SUDAN in 2003 and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.

She became a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and West African College of Surgeons.

She currently works with a General Hospital in Lagos and provides comprehensive, compassionate care to women through all stages of life. 

She specializes in both routine and high-risk obstetrics, gynaecologic surgery, fertility counselling and preventive women’s health.

In addition to clinic practice, she is passionate about medical education and community outreach.
