Ebele I. Onwuagbaizu is a visionary healthcare leader and experienced Nurse Midwife with over 20 years of clinical expertise across diverse healthcare settings, including fertility nursing. She is committed to impacting the next generation of nurses and transforming patient care. 

She has actively participated in and organized trainings, seminars, and workshops in customer service, fertility nursing, infertility and Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) both locally and internationally. 

Ebele is a pioneer in fertility nursing education in Africa, leading the development of the first-ever MSc. Curriculum in Fertility Nursing. This groundbreaking initiative, approved by the  Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has standardized fertility nursing education and empowered nurses with specialized skills. 

She also championed establishment of the Fertility Nurse Practitioners’ Registry within the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Her vision led to the establishment of Fertility Nurses Association of Nigeria (FNAN), which promotes training and education of fertility nurses, provides peer support, mentorship, and networking opportunities and empowers nurses to build fulfilling career paths.

She holds a BSN from KAAF University, Ghana; a Postgraduate Award in Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) from University of Warwick, UK; diplomas in General Nursing and Midwifery from School of Nursing, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) and School of Midwifery, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH); a BA in History and International Relations from Lagos State University (LASU0; a PGD and MSc. in Social Works from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and an MSc. degree in Midwifery and Child Health Nursing from University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
