Prof. Hossam Fahem Abdel-Rahim

Prof. Hossam Fahem Abdel-Rahim is a distinguished academic and medical professional, currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He holds a Doctorate Degree in OB/GYN from the same esteemed institution and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in London.

Prof. Abdel-Rahim has held various leadership roles, including Head of Education, Training & Accreditation at the African Federation of Fertility Societies (AFFS), Board Member of AFFS, and Board Member of the Egyptian Fertility & Sterility Society (EFSS). He also serves as President of the Professors’ Appointing Committee and is a member of the National Medical Licensing Exam Committee. Additionally, he is the Head of Department and Clinical Director at Adam International Hospital in Cairo, Egypt.

Throughout his career, Prof. Abdel-Rahim has received notable recognition, including the prestigious FIGO award in 2000. He has undergone extensive training in Egypt, the UK, and Ireland, where he worked as a Lecturer in OB/GYN at the Royal College of Surgeons. As a Fellow representative at the International Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, he has been actively involved in the field since 2004.

Prof. Hossam Fahem Abdel-Rahim is a prolific researcher, with over 50 papers published in various aspects of OB/GYN in international, regional, and national journals. He serves as co-editor of the Egyptian Fertility & Sterility Journal (EFSJ), and is a referee for several prominent medical journals, including BJOG, MEFS Journal, and Al-Azhar International Medical Journal. As an esteemed speaker, he has been invited to over 400 national and international conferences, sharing his expertise and insights with the global medical community. 

His primary area of interest lies in Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
